31 Days (Day 6) Why Listen to My Advice?

I am a Registered Dietitian (RD), hence the name of my blog.  I've always wanted to be writer too, which is why I started a blog.  When I started college, I was planning on going into journalism, but then I was working for minimum wage at the mall with a lady with a journalism degree.  I thought about it and I decided that I needed a degree in something that I could write about and actually know there would be jobs.  Hindsight is 20/20 and I made a good decision not getting that journalism degree with the decrease in print media, and the increase in our food awareness and appreciate, not to mention the increase in obesity and nutrition-related health issues.

There is countless advice online about loosing weight and eating well.  Why should you read my advice?  Because I'll give realistic advice for the parent of young kids, babies, and toddlers. I have a young family with 2 boys under 5.  I work-full time outside of the home and teach online nutrition courses at a local college.  Plus, you can have confidence in my nutrition advice as I studied nutrition and foods for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees.  I can distill the newest research with the previously established facts to give you bottom line and how the facts about nutrition and food apply to you and your family.

My goal is to guide readers with a realistic advice for working towards improved wellness (which often includes weight loss) in your life as parents.
