Shopping for a Big Boy Bed!

We are about to head out on a little adventure for a big boy bed for Aidan.  He is currently sleeping in his crib converted to a toddler bed.  We decided than even though it's early - I'm 10wks along - it's time to make the trip to Cincinnati to Ikea.  When I was pregnant with Aidan, we were planning on going to Ikea on April 13th to buy his crib.  He was born April 12th.  We waited a little too long.  I'm just glad my water didn't break in the middle of Ikea and then had to be rushed to a hospital in Cincinnati...with my preemie...2 hours from home.  That would've been traumatic on my little brain.  I think I'll be sticking pretty close to Indy after 25 weeks passes this pregnancy.

So anyhow - there are two beds I'm focusing on for my little bear, the plainest, cheapest one they have OR this really cute bed that can have a tent and converts to a little loft when he is older.  I like that this bed will give him and sibling more room to play in what will be their shared room.  I don not like that this gives Aidan a launch pad for craziness.  I'd like to avoid broken limbs if at all possible.  The dog breaking his leg was quite enough for one lifetime - thanks you very much.  (I guess I'll need to write that story some other time)

Fire at our house, my fault

Its a damp cool night.  We have a bunch of wood in the garage.  I thought, perfect night for a fire.  So I thought I opened the flu but I didn't stick my hand up there to take out the plastic foam ball my dear husband uses to block the draft.  So I proceed to start a nice little fire. And the smoke bellowed out into the house so I thought I had the flew closed and I pushed the metal bar the other way.  The smoke was worse. I panicked got Aidan outside and got the dog on the leash.  I called 911 and asked for the fire departments help.  They were here ina jiffy.  Aidan was thrilled.  Byron was so scarred he had to crap right then and there.  The firefighters put out the fire with a pitcher of water and bought out a big fan to air out the house.  It smells like campfire in the whole house right now.

The firefighters were awesome.  I was so embarrassed for being silly with the fireplace.  I cried on the phone to Brandon.

Lessons learned, don't stick things in the flu and don't start fires at home without 2 adults.  Silly Momma.

Week 9: 2 Ups and 2 Downs

Me and Newborn Aidan

This week has been a good one, but long.  I keep thinking that this is the last week of the month, but there are 2 more weeks.  That's OK, I have more time to get somethings done for my IUPUI classes.

Two Ups:  Nausea is getting better.  IUPUI is going to pay me for a 4th section of the course I'm teaching because they let too many students sign up for the class.  Extra $$ yeah!

Two Downs:  Less pregnancy related.  Aidan had a hearing test this week and the fluid behind his ear drums is affecting his hearing and he did have trouble hearing during the test.  He's scheduled for his third set of tubes to be placed on March 1st.  Also, I had a little spotting today, and a little cramping, but much less than I had with Aidan at this time, so I'm optimistic that baby is OK and just digging in a foundation.
